Argos' Forest is finished... AND I have a story for Jindal... AND I now have a cause.

-deep breath-
In that order:

And. It's true; I have a story for 'dalu. (Yup, that's his nickname!) It involves him being a ghost rather than a weight watcher. (I hate the word deity so much.) And it's really complicated and kind of still undeveloped, so I can't really describe it, but... I'm so excited.

And! I have a cause now.
Let me explain. For a while I have been lamenting the fact that I'm kind of... selfabsorbedandcauseless. Like there was nothing that I've ever been like, "I want to give my heart to that." (excessive misuse of "like," there.)
But today I found something I think I can really... be part of. Here's how it happened.
I update my twitter during my free period. (Bad WOI!) And recently I've started looking at the new LOLcats too. (REALLY bad WOI!) And today I spotted an ad for the Smile Train. (On i can has cheezburger, yes. Random, yes.) (Can we perhaps stop with the parenthetical asides?)
Why haven't I ever thought of this before? I had a cleft lip and palette when I was born. I've benefitted from these surgeries. (Though not from ST, because the US is lovely&advanced.) (Excuse me, parentheses?!)
So that was on my mind. And I've mentioned this a few times in the past, I think, but God likes coincidences. At Esther's Circle tonight, I was doing the whole mental, I know God wants me to use my talents and experiences for Him, but how? thing like I always do. And we were doing this affirmation thing, where we went around the table and commented on what gifts God had given us, and like five people commented on my smile. My smile! The one that took five billion surgeries. The one I've always been so insecure about. My cleft-lip smile.
Does God fix up little coincidences like this in everyone's life, or does He have something special planned for me? Either way, the way He lines things up to drive his point home never ceases to amaze me. He reminds me that even though i am such an imperfect child of His, He loves me.

I will write this right after I get back from sitting by the fire holy crepe it's cold

Actually, Cody was downstairs, so I elected to play some DDR. Mario Mix. 'Course, he came upstairs at one point and made me fail Pirate Dance.

I'm warm now, in any case.

I'm afraid I have failed you (dare?)... I have nothing more interesting to say today.
The Argos Forest... did I mention that? For art class, for our "rhythm and movement" project, I'm drawing a picture of trees with eyes. Kinda like that tree in the math quad at LCC, except they're real eyes. Two of them are jaundiced, one is blind. I'm calling it the Argos Forest, like Argos from Greek mythology who had a hundred eyes, all over his body, and never closed any of them until Hermes came and bored him to death. I suppose I can squish it (i.e., flatten the layers) and show you a W.I.P., ne?
Oh, I started a sentence up there and neglected to finish it. The Argos Forest is coming along nicely. I want to use it as a setting for something...

(Well, that's certainly a much easier way to move a picture about... move the html, duh!)
Other than that... I want to write something new, but nothing's coming to me... well, now something is, but it needs development before I can write it. :x Involving Italian masks and a sweet sixteen and... all maybes.
I could write that story I had in mind before Hieronymus moved in, but... I feel less inspired by that now. :C

10.26.2007

Okay... I'll post.

Yesterday I did not post because we went to C&T's semifinal soccer game. They lost and it was cold and I had to spend a long time on the bus, but it wasn't as bad as I'm making it sound.
But it was cold.

Today I discovered that Christopher Ott (and by conscious extension, his real-person Chris Rubinsky) speaks in Cockney rhyming slang! I had no idea! This guy is amazing. It was his sky-snake Quartz that claimed its existence and encouraged me to further develop the crew of the Daedalus, resulting in the continued importance of sky pirates. Hurray!
In econ we did a rather interesting activity, led by a speaker from the Minnesota School of Business (look, a link)--"The Cost of Independence." It was about budgeting and how much one needs to make to be independent... I'll only need to make $16.98 an hour to live--with nice standards--independently witha roommate.
...That sounded just a little stupid, but whatever.
It was rather uplifting.
Also, I finished the picture of Eddis so I am presenting those to Sounis right now. Oh, would you like to see them as well?

9.19.2007

Note to self: Neopets and paint.NET don't mix well.

Today in Econ we did busywork and talked about God. (No joke. The talk about God wasn't part of the class, though. The boys who sit near me were arguing. One was an atheist. I was going to join in at one point, but the atheist wasn't listening to logic.) I missed most of Englisha and most of my freep, and all of lunch, because we went to pick up the proofs for my senior photos. I don't understand how I can look so happy while forcing a smile that large. XD; Not that I was unhappy, just... I hate smiling that widely. Then when I came back, I finished Maus (library only has the first one, unless the second is signed out) and started The Lovely Bones. And then I got... A FANFICTION IDEA! This is even more exciting because it is an incredibly elusive species of fanfiction--L FANFICTION! ~wiggledance~ We'll see how it works~
When I got home, I was supposed to have a guy come over for some Japanese conversation, but he had a test tonight and a test tomorrow night, so he couldn't come this week. So, instead, I detached the picture files from the email I sent myself and stuck them into a Facebook album. It's right here. I've been coloring the Attolia tektek in paint.NET. The Red UpsideDown Top is VILE to color.

9.09.2007

I... don't feel like going to sleep yet.

I have a playing test and an English quiz tomorrow but I don't feel like going to sleep yet. In fact I feel pretty... unhappy.
I don't know why. But I'm definitely unhappy. Not a defined unhappy-for-a-reason but definitely unhappy.

We're... different. And I guess it sort of pressures me.
So ridiculous. So ridiculous. Nothing to freak out about like this. Her way is even more... I don't know. My way is so timid, so inferiority-complex-like. But... is that why?

Meh.
Today ne.
Woke up, was cold all morning, went to a church called The Waters. It was all right--very long, but this was an introductory service... hmm... Came home and had grilled cheese. Good stuff. Following that we went to Grandma&Grandpa's house again. (It took me like five tries to find that ampersand in the dark. Geez.) I spent the way there re-reading scenes from King of Attolia (again?!) and plotting that dance scene picture I was talking about. Also shading Midna. Played cribbage there, and I was on the winning team once! In fact I... counted...? the winning points! I still say that game's more effort than it's worth though. XP On the way home I re-read some more, slept, and then realized that maybe the dancing picture wasn't as hopeless as I was thinking, so I continued it. I have rough outlines on scratchpaper and will continue it soon. Wish me luck!

Still don't feel like sleeping.
I might as well though. Good night.

One, two, do the kung fu; three, four, on the dance floor

I have Bus Stop's version of "Kung Fu Fighting" in my head. XP

So today I pretty much finished cleaning my room. Amazingly, I have a FLOOR. Wow. I thought my floor was made of paper and clothes and other miscellany. Also that is a funny word. Miscellany.

Other than that, Palace of Twilight is a really SHORT dungeon. My goodness. And Zant is a freaking weirdo! I was expecting him to be a dignified villian--and I was even expecting him to be semi-handsome after the dealybob with his lips when he was talking to Midna after Lakebed--but he was very much neither. oO; In fact he was quite creepy. And strange. But the music while battling him was amazing. I think I mentioned that when I'm done I'm going to go collect cutscenes from Youtube; well, I'm going looking for that battle, too, just for the music. It was stellar. And he was not difficult, just long. And the dungeon was not difficult, nor was it long. But now I'm in the castle which is looking more like a dungeon every second. NINE dungeons? It does not make sense!

Other than that... Yeah. I spent too much time staring at screens today. Now I am working on my picture of Misa as episodes 1-5 download in preparation for tomorrow. I don't think I've mentioned this, but R.G. kindly agreed to subject herself to a conversion attempt, so she's coming over tomorrow to watch episodes 1-8. R.B. may also come, but we're having trouble contacting him because he just got back from a cruise.
Scratch that, it doesn't seem that R.B. is coming. Too bad. ;;

Now, I did say I was drawing Misa, but in case that's not good enough for you, here's the Oocca I drew today on my flashgear board. Oocca are odd. They look like chickens with deformed heads, yet they are noble or special or something.
...At least, I'll be able to show you once my computer stops lagging.
...*waits*
.......*waits*
......So, I heard you like Mudkips.
Okay, it's huge because it wouldn't load on my gaia page, so I had to go to my account and take the link from there. I might do that in the future; it' s a nice size.

Tomodachi!

Today my sisters' friend had a volleyball tournament in the cities (for the uninitiated, that refers to St. Paul and Minneapolis), so Mom and my sisters and I went down there and hung out for the day. It was hot. Really hot. And I found out at the last minute that I was going so I didn't have time to find matching socks so I had to wear my long boots. DX It was awful.

But only the heat. Other than that it wasn't so bad. A little ways away we found a Japanese store!! Called "Tomodachi." ("Friend.") It wasn't too bad... But man! Was the food expensive. The pocky was $2.30! We're talking ordinary chocolate pocky here. D: And I stupidly didn't check the price on the Ramune before I bought it... oh well. I also bought a shirt with those Makkuro Kurosuke things from My Neighbor Totoro on it. The... soot creatures? Don't remember what Disney called them. Those little black things. I'm so wearing it tomorrow. x3 With my black lacey cami underneath, if that looks fine... *goes into outfit planning mode*

Other than that... geez, I had every intention of working on OO this morning! Really I did! But Cody is just so cute in the mornings, and so excited to see me, and it's so distracting... in any case
I had to leave suddenly, so it wouldn't have worked out. Ohh, I am failing miserably. ;_;
I think I need a new writing time. Morning hasn't been working... Hmm... maybe I need darkness. But staying up later would entail waking up later and I don't want to lose my reputation for waking up at 5:45.

I worked on drawing Show today and started drawing a Decora girl. Also I am in desperate need of AAA batteries for my mp3 player. And my AP grades did not come today so I must wait until Monday! D: Siiigh.
But I got a Makkurokurosuke shirt.

Which contains a blatant diversionary tactic

Today I did little. As predicted I read Silver Chair and Last Battle. Played a tiny bit of Twilight Princess but I am rather stuck in this City in the Sky... Then had lunch, napped, drew. I'm still working on that Matt.Mello picture. And I started a picture of Show from Alice Nine as well.

Someone in PG has received her AP scores already. Just when I had managed to forget for a few days that they were coming. *deep steadying breaths*

Anyway, now for something more lighthearted, a phrase which means, "the blatant diversionary tactic, which should hopefully distract you from the fact that this entry, like too many recent ones, contains neither art nor writing."
I made the questions for this survey myself.

I think...

...I have become more paranoid here. Paranoid or delusional or both. I keep hearing things and seeing things out of the corners of my eyes. It worries me.
But whatever.

Today was not too bad. Didn't really do anything before school; spent some of first block working on my comp paper. In physics we watched some of What the Bleep do We Know?, which is an odd movie. Third period I did my impromptu speech (45/50) and fourth we watched some Frankenstein and worked on our essays.

Sorry, I'm rather distracted right now. Have had trouble focusing all afternoon. Just went and looked at the whole LJ commotion. Am utterly distracted.

Nothing for you today, sorry.
Here.
Slightly steampunk?
A clockwork girl.

5.27.2007

I totally did NOT just walk into the wall.

What are you talking about?

Today was just as bobbleheaded as yesterday.
Which means not in the slightest.

So I woke up, typed a tiny bit of the Kino fanfiction, and then... went upstairs and slept some more. *sweatdrop* I swear, this is just a really bad month. I almost fainted during church, too. O_O But it was really boring there. And we had to sight-sing the hymns. D:

Meh... today was just a boring day all around. Didn't do much, really.
I should write but I don't know what to write.
I did make you something, though.
She's standing in front of the light from a window, if you can't tell.
This was inspired by a hallway in Mickey's Magical Mirror, embarrassingly enough.

Every one of your ridiculous lies

I have just had the most amazing, peaceful, blissful evenings I can imagine. In my pajama pants and AHA t-shirt, I spent about an hour and a half after dinner reading King of Attolia, a book I adore, under my covers. I had graham crackers and milk. The only reason I'm not still reading now is that I came to brag about it. Muahaha. I shall return momentarily to my room to read some more!

But now for a quick day summary. First period, I drew A.N.--took me two drafts. XP. Second was an unpleasant physics test. Third was speech--most relaxing, since my speech is already done. Fourth was a fairly relaxing Comp test. Then I came home and I've been reading King all afternoon.

I do adore that book. I adore that couple (and this is going to be a spoiler, so if you intend to read The Thief and Queen of Attolia and have yet to do so, I recommend skipping the rest of this journal entry)--

Are those who don't wish to be spoiled quite gone?
Gen x Attolia.
Eugenides x Irene.
Whatever you want to call it.
It's cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! But in the way that Trustshipping and Hallo are. The "AREN'T THESE PEOPLE AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS HALF THE TIME?!" kind of way.
I love it. lessthanthree. (It tells me I have broken code if I try to put the less than in here.)
(As an aside: our refridgerator's icemaker just vomitted.)
Oh, but I adore it. I kind of want to write something for it. >_> But with a couple like this--like these--you can't just stick them in a random mushsap !plot.
*Short sigh* Well, I did write Kino this morning. I think I shall try to find an idea for this... Genlia? Attolenides? XD Attolenides... But then wouldn't it use her name? Irenides? Eugrene? Oh my goodness... Eugrene. My goodness.
If I come up with anything, you may see it tomorrow. Teehee.

5.20.2007

Ahahahaheh. >_>;

I am currently using my blog as a way to avoid answering a very detailed and lovely comment on "Lie"! I am bad at responding to comments.

So, today I finished OO-8 (hurray!), posted Lie and the novel-based fanfiction, and then went to my sisters' soccer tournament. It was cold so I stayed in the van memorizing Word Disassociation. Then we went to Perkins, which was brilliantly mediocre... our food took forever to arrive, and Mother received the wrong sandwich, but overall the food was tasty...

Ah, wait. An idea have I.
It's Show (his spelling, not making it up) and L! Which became an unintentional pun when I typed it into the file name. Show I drew quite a while ago (during Comp class... but you guessed that), but L I drew today. It is on a... you know those thingies they put around the napkin/silverware to keep it together? Yeah. One of those. The text around him is from Lie, though I messed up on the evil bit. What, I wrote the thing a month ago.
Ignore the looming camera shadow of doom. And the grammar. Unless you like stuff like that.

Hilarious Oxymoron Clause

Well, today was considerably better than yesterday. Not that anything particularly fascinating happened... Let's see... nope, nothing really exciting happened. I swear, MONDAY I will start reaping the benefits of having a free period. Really.
ACK A TICK!
I shall return momentarily. T_T
Ewww. It was crawling on me. Maybe I won't be using that cute little path behind our house so much after all. Eww. And don't let anyone lie to you: those things are thoroughly un-squishable.
There was a tick crawling on me. T__T
In any case... parents and siblings are at a tournament, and they'll be spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house. So I am home alone! Gasp. And Mother left me money to go get Subway, so that's what I had for dinner. Maybe that's where I picked up the tick... THERE ARE NO SIDEWALKS HERE. I'M SERIOUS.

...I think I am going to make use of sisters' camera and sneak a few doodles I've done onto here. Ne?
Let's see here. This I did the night after we left California. It's colored in crayons. That was silly of me.

This decorates a divider in my binder. <3

You're about to lose the game. Near has no hands to speak of.

Alice. I drew this while watching Alice in Wonderland on Easter. The Cheshire Cat is, as of right now, faceless.

Loki is teh snazz. But he's a bad guy, what a pity.

Boogiepop! This is on the back of a grammar worksheet. The teachers here really like worksheets, so I have lots of drawing space.

Yes, Lain is supposed to be green. I drew this on the back of my English Free response sheet today. XD
