NEVER AGAIN WILL I WATCH IN ENGLISH SOMETHING THAT WAS DUBBED THAT LONG AGO.

I FREAKING SWEAR.

THEY SEEMED TO SUFFER FROM WHAT WE CALL "PRESSURE OF SPEECH."

And English-Sheeta and baKOOra should get married and have faux-British babies, and everyone will cover their ears and scream.

*fumes*

R.S., if you're reading this, I actually enjoyed Castle in the Sky a lot. It's just that we watched it as a family tonight, and they wanted to see it in English rather than subtitled. AND THE DUB LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIES! AND IT STICKS TALKING WHERE NO TALKING SHOULD BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! AND THE VOICES PAIN MY EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARS!

I watched most of it in Japanese yesterday night and it was lovely.

But I am never watching something dubbed that long ago ever again. They had NO standards.

Oh, right, before all of that (I had a long afternoon, to tell the truth... really long...), I was thinking of babble-praising this new manga I got today. It's soooo cute! It's called V.B. Rose--Velvet Blue Rose, I think, though I'm not entirely sure about that... It's a shooooooooooooooujo~ It's so pretty and thorougly saccharine, but so cute~ Motto yomitai ima kara. xD <3

My stress level just PLUMMETTED.

God: WHY are You wasting Your time with me? me. me. lower-case me, who has yet to show any sign of being useful to You?
do You want something of me? how can i be useful to You? i don't understand.
You pushed me to the edge, and brought the idea to my mind once, twice. when i showed that annoying tendency i have to hang back, You pushed me one step farther so that i would say it.
thank You, God, and onward to whatever You have in store for little me.

The good news is, I've been keeping my writing resolution.

The bad news is, I can't show you any of my work on BRS because the formatting pains me. That's not to say that I'm having trouble formatting--oh, no. But the formatting is such an integral part that I refuse to post it somewhere that would kill the formatting. I'll try to see what I can do with it...

1.05.2008

Why hello.

Yesterday, again, I was writing. Scripting some of BRS, in fact. The formatting is confusing... and once it stops being confusing, it's freaking obnoxious. :C

Anyway, I'm here this morning because the new DN episode is up, &away we go.

"And Sakura is not airing this tape for the purposes of sensationalism." Oh, no, something much nobler than that. Ratings!
...WTH@Deme's voice.
..."Another" fake? What was the first? What?
Should I have three with me? Sure.
...? Was that... self-preservation? xD;;;;;
Disagreement with Ukita's voice. :C (For all that matters....)
Lulz, left-side steering wheel. [/lame]
"And safe inside our cars", no doubt. :/ Well, it's wise, I suppose. (If you're going to brandish that line so determinedly, allow it to be applied to other people, too.)
...Disagreement with Aizawa's voice, and that DOES matter. :C
Kono episode nanban dakke.
Why "my"? It's Aizawa's life that's in question here, anyway... what, is "one" too stuffy? :/
Shiiiiiinyyyy Ferris wheel...
NO! DON'T LEAVE HIM ALONE, SACHIKO! ...too late. [OMG! So yesterday we were reading in Hamlet and I was Polonius and I was BABBLING LIKE MAD and I said "Since brevity is the soul of wit" and I knew what was coming and sure enough RG said, "Too late." XD;;; Clue ftw, now back on topic]
If you've ever read Sherlock Holmes... No, just kidding.
Mr. Stupid Security Guard Person, you're lucky to be alive.
6:41? I am ever suspicious of numbers like 6:40.
"If we stop this broadcast, he'll kill all of us!" Yay! No more Demegawa! No reentry of Takada at a crucial point in time! Whoohooooo! ...Wait, you mean it's not going to happen? ;;
((e.g. cosmetics, blood, etc.)) Or blood or blood or blood. >:/
And still safe inside our cars!
Matsuuu, did you forget about Ide that quickly? I mean, sure, he's a waste of panel space in arc-the-second, but that doesn't mean you should forget he exists.
:o Weren't they safe in their cars?
Gah. D: That voice + that face... that's not how it's supposed to sooooound. T____T
I saw a post that broke my heart this morning. "The scene kids with their Death Note fandom." That is just so depressing.
LOL. Best use of L's Theme yet. With the switching of phones.
L's theme fills me with joy~ L's theme B fills me with wariness&confusion&some joy~
Actually, the B one fills me with "wth why did they call it THAT of all things," but that isn't a very good emotion word. (No kidding!) But I mean!!! Seriously! Look at that!
Having to sit around and watch this makes me antsy.
Ide~ the eyebrowless man~ His hair is not long enough~ To make this forgivable~
...Not that Misa would figure THAT out.
:C Dislike tone of voice.
"If"? L my love, I don't think there was any "if" invovled with you.
She-knee-GA-mi. :C
Y'know, these little bursts of talkingness sound a lot stupider when they're actually audio. They didn't seem stupid in the manga, but...
Reaction one: lol, what the heck@Kira bandwagon. xD; *check* Reaction two: Fwaah? Hey, that's supposed to correspond to "I'm not sure if he'll believe I'm L." I can't believe they took that out! That was funny! Darn anime. >:C
-fangirls slightly-
"*gasp* Double digits?! He's never used double-digit percentages before!"
His fork is sticking out of the cake. XD
Comment on Ryuga Hideki has been aborted for a squeeful one about the fact that she's in Harajuku, squeeeee! And look, those things are on sale! Can I buy 'em can I buy 'em huh huh? Puh-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?
I... dislike Rem's voice. :C It's better than the guyish one from the movie (that was awful), but it's not scratchy enough. It also sounds rather... computer-generated, the patterns of emphasis and everything... remind me of that American Girls game. (Rem, just say "Foreman Flacutono means it cost a lot of money," for me, kk?) Also, I swear the "th" on "Death Note" was more of an "s"... what?
...MISA'S VOICE SOUNDS FULL OF STUPID. But I mean not in the way that she should sound full of stupid. (Don't say that about someone who has a Note! O__O) But it sounds... typical American-voice-actor-ish. (What? Is that even a valid assessment?!)
Faceness? Now that's not canon. But ugh! She sounds like... ugh! American and ugh!

Since I already babbled about one Hamlet thing in here, I'll add this: Yesterday we were watching the Mel Gibson movie of Hamlet in English, and when it got to Ophelia, I kind of suspected that I knew who it was, but I wasn't entirely sure... you see, I was thinking that it was the lady who plays Bellatrix, but I was so confused! Her hair... it was... under control! XD;;; But it was her, even though her hair was normal-looking. Though some of it came out of the braids, and she became easier to recognize... (This sounds mean. I really do think she's pretty, and a very good actress. But her hair baffles me. And her Bellatrix terrifies me, actually...)

I suppose it's just about time for me to post...

I failed to post yesterday because I was keeping my New Year's resolution! I was writing! It was a Wammy's House fanfic! Whoo-hoo! 'Member that Pandore chick? The one who supported Kira? I've been reworking her story.

So since nothing really interesting happened today, I'll type up what I have of that.
-
The students of the Wammy's House were halfway through their lunch when a shout shattered the easy atmosphere of the cafeteria.
"What are you saying?!"
The source of the cry was Jazz. It was clear that she had leapt out of her seat moments before. her short-cropped hair stood out around her aviator's goggles as if electrified. She was furious.
Pandore, the apparent object of Jazz's anger, was still seated. Her face was splotched with red as she fiddled with her curled hair and glanced around the cafeteria. "There was no need to draw everyone's attention," she stated, carefully not meeting Jazz's eyes.
"Why not?" Jazz retorted, ice in her voice. "You're betraying them, too."
What had been curiosity on the other children's part now turned to wariness. There was no room for betrayal at Wammy's House.
"I'm not betraying anyone," Pandore defended herself, her voice raised to address everyone. Then, softly, added, "I just can't see him as completely wrong."
Jazz leaned forward into Pandore's face to hiss, "He's trying to kill L!"
Her face contorted in misery, Pandore leaned back slightly and tried to keep her voice level as she replied, "Obviously, I don't condone or agree with that, but..." Then she trailed off, hopelessly. She had heard the disbelieving intakes of breath, and she could feel the hostile stares of all her peers, who had just realized that she--she, who was supposed be one of L's "children"--supported Kira. She looked away from Jazz and muttered, "Forget it. You know what? Just forget it. Just..." She shook her head, once, and her carefully-styled hair fell around her face. Without finishing her lunch, she strode out of the cafeteria.

Some hours later, Pandore crept into Roger's office. With considerable effort, she met Roger's eyes and said, "I expect you've heard about what happened at lunch."
She'd meant to toss the words out like skipping stones across a lake, but somehow they sank right away.
Roger simply nodded over his folded hands. "I did."
"I--" Pandore swallowed, broke eye contact. Made no attempt to reinstate it. "I wish to leave Wammy's House. My godmother has returned from AFrica, and she says I may live with her for a while."
"I see." Roger sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Panodre, please realize that we would never force you away from here."
"You wouldn't, and Mr. Wammy wouldn't, and Ms. Masen wouldn't. And L..." Pandore's voice wavered a little on "L," and she swallowed again, very firmly. "I suppose I don't have any right to guess at L's thoughts." Unnecessarily, she hooked some of her hair behind her ear. Her hand was shaking. "But the other kids won't want me here anymore. They hate me now; they think I don't be long here. And I guess they're right. If I can't synchronize my thoughts and feelings with L's, why should I be here?"
"Pandore..."
~
XP And that's where I start wavering.
I know what I want to do next-ish, but I'm having trouble getting there. Plus, I'm really sleepy right now (which is why that sentence very nearly said, "Plush, I'm really sleep right now").
Good night.

I now have a kitty named Greta.

Unfortunately, she's stuffed. :( Oh well. M'parents won't let me have a real cat 'til I have my own place. She's from TY. She looks like this.

She's named, in case you don't know the reference, after Greta Salpeter of The Hush Sound, because they are awesome. Sigh. They should come out with a new CD so I can buy it. :3 (+Information from facebook: New CD this year! Yay!)

Today we went to the Mall of America. I got a writing book there, as well as Greta. At the Hot Topic there, which was roughly the size of the local one (...lame), they had a Dir En Grey CD for only $14, but... I've never really listened to much DEG, so... I didn't buy it.

Anyway, that is all I have to say for today, I suppose... back to school tomorrow, YUCK!
I did do some babbling about the Jindal story today... It needs a title. XP In the picture I did of Jindal for linoleum carving in art class, I wrote "GHOST KING Jindal", mostly to balance it out... But I don't like that as a title. First of all, he can't be a king... the peacock automatons (the guards) won't let them have a leader. So... yeah. And in any case, he's not leading anything once he's dead.

I'm in such a cat mood right now. Kyah.

Obligatory (?) New Year's Post

Let's start off with a meme. (This girl is obsessed with memes.)
Except that I can't find the one I'm thinking of. Poo.

Have I any resolutions?
Well, exercise more. Write more. (Vague is bad!) Exercise at least thrice a week; write daily. Better? Even if it's just babbling about Jindal's lovely unnamed world/story.
Also, I need to take more initiative. I don't know how that can be made un-vague.
Finally, R.G. had a very good idea for a resolution: start keeping my cell phone where I can hear it!! We're making that resolution together.

Clearly this girl doesn't feel like seriously thinking right now.
But a lot happened this year.
We moved. That was the biggest. And I haven't had a mental breakdown yet. (Yessss!) No repeat of eighth grade, please and thank you most sincerely.
I freaking babble too much. :C Do you ever want to be taken seriously? (Talking to oneself will not help.)
Siiiigh.

Shall we call it style and move on?
I am... fairly happy here, when I let myself be. Minnesota is not where I would like to be living, but other than the complete lack of AP classes, SHS is... not all that bad. And I have the Table.
If any of you Table members happen to stumble across this... I mean none of this in offense. I love you all (platonically of course), and our little circle (...literally, a circle) helps me a lot.
But... There's always this part of me that wonders if I'm betraying my lunch group from California. The rest of me (the Yomi part, the Miranda part) knows that this is a ridiculous way to look at things, but since that's the part of me that also tries to make me "normal," I'm not used to accepting what she says as reasonable advice. Sigh. Something else to work on in the new year...
God has, in many ways, shown me that He is... well, supporting me, rather than ignoring me. (Here and here, for example.) Even though I'm hardly any real use to Him and can never work up the initiative to change that fact.

Yosh'! 2008. My graduation year! Let's get it started!
